    As the gateway to Physio Med's services, referred employees are contacted within four hours by our dedicated Triage Team to help determine the right intervention - in other words whether the employee should be referred for assessment by one of our Senior Chartered Physiotherapists or if they need to see another specialist via their GP.

    The Triage Team screens the employee against evidence based criteria, dismissing any clinical red flags (i.e. whether they require urgent medical attention) and assessing the persons' psychosocial response to their injury. Immediate advice, guidance and support regarding condition management and recovery is offered and employees are then transferred through to their employers' pre-selected service - the telephone and web-based PAL service or for face to face treatment via our nationwide network of physiotherapy practices.

    In business time is of the essence and so when your employee sustains an injury, or reports a condition that may prevent them from working, it is imperative that they receive the best advice to help them return to pre-injury state and their normal duties as quickly and safely as possible.

    PAL - the Physiotherapy Advice Line - delivers quick, evidence-based, expert intervention, assessment, treatment and advice for muscle and joint problems directly from a Senior Chartered Physiotherapist to employees that are referred.

    The advice line is designed to reduce the aggravation and severity of injuries to assist in their speedy resolution. Employees are also provided with an individually tailored web-based self-management plan, consisting of advice and video exercises to aid their recovery.

    And, most importantly, it works! Clients who currently use this service see an average 30% reduction in their physiotherapy spend in comparison to a face-to-face provision and can see up to a 10:1 return on investment. This is, of course, as well as reduced sickness absence, and high levels of staff fitness, morale and wellbeing, with employees experiencing little or no down-time for trips to their GP or a physiotherapy practice.
