Occupational Physiotherapy

Face to face physiotherapy is the traditional method of accessing assessments and treatments with a clinician. Physio Med has a national network of 780 Physiotherapy clinics with handpicked Chartered and State Registered Physiotherapists specialising in manual therapy. F2F allows for a more detailed objective assessment and treatment as required in a clinic setting.

Our physiotherapy integrates seamlessly with our triage and PAL services to guarantee patients receive an effective treatment pathway.

Effective Occupational Physiotherapy

Initial assessment
Initial assessment

Provides a status report and advice on potential treatment numbers.

Treatments
Treatments

Largely manual therapy, delivered by our network of over 780 physiotherapy practices.

Interim/discharge reports
Interim/discharge reports

Provided at specific intervals. For example after 5 sessions an interim report is produced or if the patient is recovered, a discharge report is produced.

Patients who have F2F sessions are monitored via our clinical scrutiny department:

1

Our scrutiny team check every report

Every report (initial, follow up/s, discharge) is read by one of our senior clinicians to assess suitability and appropriateness. Any discrepancies and/or questions are then asked back to the assessing/treating therapist for comment/clarification.

2

Then feedback to you by email or phone

Our scrutiny therapists offer you advice on how to proceed (with the management of the patient). Note, this is advice only the final decision is always yours.

Robust clinical governance and reporting

Each major step (initial assessment, follow up/s and discharge) generates a report including:

  • pain levels
  • restriction on motion
  • ability to perform normal work role
  • advice on modification of duties
  • diagnosis
  • prognosis

Suitability

  • All patients (acute and chronic)
  • All musculoskeletal conditions (one body area per referral e.g. neck/shoulder pain is acceptable, but neck/ankle pain would require two referrals e.g. one for the neck and one for the ankle)
  • After surgery (post-surgery rehabilitation)
  • Patients who did not respond to PAL

NOT for

  • Anyone under the care of another physiotherapist, osteopath, chiropractor or consultant physician.

  • Neurological conditions
